Yoga

Yoga has always been a passion and a joy to perform. I am a registered Yoga teacher (RYT 200) in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Yin Yoga as approved by the Yoga Alliance.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic system of moves that promotes good health and vitality within a practitioner. The main aim of the practice is to generate flow between the moves and generate an increased energy flow within the body. The term Ashtanga (eight limbed) refers to a modern form of classical Yoga originally popularised by K. Pattabhi Jois in the 20th Century.

The term Vinyasa means the dynamic flow from posture to posture using movement and breath to perfect the journey between postures rather than solely the alignment during the static posture. Vinyasa also refers to a series of movements frequently carried out in series to promote health by increasing flexibility, balance, muscle tone and joint range.

Yin yoga is slower and practiced in a more medative state. It involves holding positions for longer periods of time, allowing the connective tissue, ligaments and tendons time to stretch. it is a very good balance when used with the more dynamic styles of yoga, like Ashtanga.
